The Culinary Collective: The History of Soul Food In-Person
Experience the history and flavor of soul food in this interactive, beginner-friendly class for adults 18+. Chef Natasha Jarmon of The Heirs Table will guide you through preparing classic soul food dishes while exploring their cultural roots and culinary significance. You’ll work in small groups to cook simple, flavorful recipes using traditional herbs, spices, and techniques. Along the way, Chef Jarmon will share helpful tips, ingredient recommendations, and stories that bring the cuisine to life. The session ends with tasting the dishes you’ve prepared. All ingredients, equipment, and recipes provided.
This adult cooking series explores specialty cooking techniques while highlighting nutrition and wellness for a healthier lifestyle. Participants learn to prepare delicious, nutritious meals, discover tips for balanced eating, and gain practical skills to bring healthy-inspired living into their daily routines.
